Returns Lead (DTC Fulfillment)
Employment Status: Full-Time
Location: On-Site at NEW Gymreapers HQ – Nampa, ID
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flex based on business needs)
Reports To: Sr. Manager, Fulfillment
Position Overview
The Returns Lead is responsible for owning and optimizing all direct-to-consumer (DTC) returns operations at Gymreapers. This role manages the full returns lifecycle—from inbound processing and disposition decisions to system accuracy and reintegration of sellable inventory.
This is a working lead role that drives execution, labor efficiency, and continuous improvement. You will ensure returns are processed quickly, accurately, and in alignment with company standards while maintaining real-time visibility into volume, bottlenecks, and recovery rates.
Key Responsibilities
Returns Execution & Flow Management
- Own daily inbound returns processing workflow within the WMS (Peoplevox)
- Prioritize returns based on volume, aging, and inventory needs
- Ensure timely processing of all returns within defined SLAs
- Accurately sort and disposition returned items (restock, damage, QA hold, liquidation)
- Identify and resolve system or inventory discrepancies in real time
- Escalate product quality issues, repeat return reasons, and operational blockers
Inventory Recovery & Accuracy
- Maximize recovery of sellable inventory through proper inspection and handling
- Maintain high accuracy in returns processing and system updates
- Partner with Inventory Control on root cause analysis for defects, damages, and discrepancies
- Ensure returned inventory is correctly reallocated to pickable locations
- Assign and manage labor across returns processing stations
- Balance workload in real time to maintain throughput and eliminate bottlenecks
- Drive productivity metrics (units processed per hour, turnaround time)
- Coach associates on quality, efficiency, and SOP adherence
- Address performance gaps with clear, actionable feedback
Quality Control & Process Standards
- Enforce inspection standards and disposition guidelines
- Maintain clean, organized, and efficient returns workstations
- Reduce processing errors and incorrect dispositions
- Identify trends in returns reasons and provide feedback to Ops, Product, and CX teams
General Warehouse Duties
As needed, support broader warehouse operations including:
- Pick
- Pack
- Returns
- Replenishment
- FBA prep
- Cycle counting
Training & Development
- Train new hires on returns SOPs and quality standards
- Reinforce best practices and standard work
- Develop team capability to improve speed and accuracy
Reporting & Visibility
- Report daily on returns volume, processing time, recovery rate, and error rates
- Track trends in return reasons and product issues
- Maintain clear communication with warehouse leadership on performance and risks
