Production Manager – Mexico

Overview
Gymreapers is scaling rapidly—and we’re hiring a Production Manager to drive operational excellence across our manufacturing footprint and turn approved samples into delivered product.
This role is the counterpart to our Sourcing & Product Developer and sits at the intersection of production planning, factory execution, and quality control, with a strong emphasis on managing domestic Mexico production and international manufacturing output.
You will play a critical role in owning the production calendar, holding factories accountable, and ensuring every order ships on time, on budget, and on standard.
This is not just an operations role—this is a build-the-system + drive-the-output role.
What You’ll Do
Production Planning & Execution
• Own the production calendar from PO placement through final delivery
• Translate development handoffs into clear production plans across factories, mills, and trim suppliers
• Manage capacity allocation across Mexico-based and overseas manufacturing partners
• Issue and track POs, monitor WIP, and ensure on-time delivery to warehouse milestones
• Identify and remove production bottlenecks before they impact ship dates
Factory & Vendor Management
• Serve as primary point of contact for production partners across:
◦ Cut & sew apparel factories
◦ Gear and accessories manufacturers
◦ Hardware, trims, and component suppliers
◦ Domestic and international packaging vendors
• Hold factories accountable to capacity commitments, lead times, and pricing agreements
• Conduct regular factory visits across Mexico to audit production, inspect product, and resolve issues in real time
• Build deep operational relationships that unlock priority, speed, and flexibility
Quality Control & Production Readiness
• Own pre-production approvals, top-of-production inspections, and final QC sign-off
• Establish and enforce inline and final quality standards in partnership with Product Development
• Resolve production defects, rework, and quality escalations directly with vendors
• Track quality KPIs by factory and drive corrective action plans where needed
• Document and communicate technical changes, tolerances, and improvements
Logistics & Importation
• Working knowledge of international shipping, import/export processes, and freight forwarding
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to support shipment flow from origin to final destination
• Familiarity with Incoterms (FOB, EXW, DDP, etc.), commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs documentation
• Communicate production readiness and shipment status to relevant teams to ensure alignment
Costing, Margin & Reporting
• Work in partnership with sourcing to support production costing and alignment on pricing, MOQs, and payment terms
• Maintain accurate cost sheets, BOMs, and order trackers
• Report production status, risk, and KPIs weekly to GM and cross-functional leadership
• Drive continuous improvement on lead time, defect rate, and cost variance
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with:

◦ Merchandising & Planning
◦ Warehouse & Fulfillment
• Ensure seamless handoff from development → production → go-to-market
• Align production decisions with margin targets, launch timelines, and inventory plans
What You’ll Bring
• 5+ years experience in Production Management, Manufacturing Operations, or Supply Chain
• Proven experience managing:
◦ Mexico-based factories and production partners (required)
◦ Overseas manufacturing output (Asia preferred)
• Strong understanding of:
◦ Apparel and/or fitness gear production workflows
◦ Cut & sew, fabrication, and assembly processes
• Experience managing:
◦ Production calendars, POs, and capacity planning
◦ Quality programs and factory audits
• Ability to negotiate pricing, lead times, and production terms
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and production workflows
Ideal Skills
• ERP / production tracking systems (NetSuite, Cin7, or similar)
• Tech packs, BOMs, and production specs
• Microsoft Office (Excel for production tracking and costing is key)
• AutoCAD experience a plus
• Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) = plus
• Highly detail-oriented and execution-focused
• Strong communicator (English + Spanish required)
• Able to manage multiple production cycles under tight deadlines
• Problem-solver with a builder mentality
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, feedback-heavy environment
