Location: Nampa, Idaho

Reports to: Director of Supply Chain

Role Overview

Gymreapers is building a world-class performance brand. The Quality Manager owns product quality end-to-end — from raw materials and factory production to inbound inspection and customer experience.

This role is responsible for testing, supplier accountability, defect prevention, and continuous quality improvement across all Gymreapers products and sales channels (DTC, Amazon, Wholesale, Retail). The Quality Manager has the authority to approve or reject production, enforce corrective actions, and protect the brand’s reputation at scale.

Key Responsibilities

Product Quality & Testing

  • Own Gymreapers’ quality standards across all SKUs and product categories
  • Define and maintain product specifications, tolerances, and acceptance criteria
  • Design and manage product testing programs (durability, performance, stress, materials)
  • Partner with Product Development to validate materials, constructions, and new designs prior to scale
  • Approve or reject production based on test results and quality benchmarks

Factory & Supplier Accountability

  • Own quality performance across all domestic and overseas factories
  • Establish and enforce AQL standards for:
    • Pre-production
    • In-line inspections
    • Final inspections
    • Pre-shipment approvals
  • Lead supplier quality scorecards tied to defect rates, corrective actions, and consistency
  • Drive CAPAs (Corrective and Preventive Actions) when quality issues arise
  • Act as the final authority on shipment release related to quality

Inbound Quality & Warehouse Controls

  • Build and maintain inbound inspection processes at Gymreapers warehouses
  • Define inspection protocols for:
    • Finished goods
    • Packaging
    • Labeling and compliance
  • Train warehouse teams on quality spot checks and issue escalation
  • Partner with Ops to reduce freight damage, packaging failures, and inbound defects

Returns, Reviews & Customer Feedback

  • Own root-cause analysis for defects, returns, and quality-related complaints
  • Work cross-functionally with:
    • Amazon Operations
    • Ecommerce
    • Customer Experience
  • Translate customer feedback and return data into factory-level corrective actions
  • Protect brand reputation by proactively addressing issues before they impact reviews

Documentation, Systems & Reporting

  • Own SOPs for:
    • Inspections
    • Testing
    • Non-conformance handling
    • Supplier approvals
  • Maintain quality documentation and reporting dashboards
  • Track and report on key quality metrics to leadership
  • Prepare the organization for future retail, wholesale, or compliance audits

Leadership & Scaling

  • Act as Gymreapers’ internal authority on quality decisions
  • Confidently push back on speed or cost when quality is at risk
  • Build and lead a QC/QA team as volume and complexity scale
  • Continuously improve quality systems as the brand grows toward $100M+

Key Success Metrics

  • Defect rate by SKU and supplier
  • Return rate tied to quality issues
  • Amazon review trends related to product quality
  • Cost of poor quality (rework, write-offs, chargebacks)
  • Supplier corrective action closure rate
  • Consistency of inbound inspection pass rates

Qualifications

  • 5–10+ years experience in Quality Management, QC, or QA within consumer goods, apparel, hardgoods, or performance products
  • Proven experience holding factories and suppliers accountable
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • AQL inspections
    • Factory audits
    • CAPAs
    • Supplier quality systems
  • Experience working with overseas manufacturing partners (China, Vietnam preferred)
  • Detail-oriented, data-driven, and comfortable making hard calls
  • Thrives in fast-growth, founder-led environments
