Location: On-Site at NEW Gymreapers’ HQ in Nampa, ID (20 mins outside of Boise, ID)

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8AM - 5PM (flex according to business needs)

Overview

Gymreapers is seeking a Technical Designer to play a critical role in elevating the fit, construction, and performance of our apparel line. This position owns garment engineering from concept through production, ensuring all products meet Gymreapers’ standards for durability, performance, and consistency across DTC, Amazon, and Wholesale channels.

This role sits at the intersection of design intent, manufacturing feasibility, and consumer performance, requiring deep technical expertise, strong cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to operate with speed and precision in a high-growth environment.

You will partner closely with Design, Product Development, Sourcing, and Operations to bring innovative, commercially viable apparel to market—on time and at scale.

What You’ll Do

Technical Design & Fit

  • Create and maintain accurate, production-ready tech packs using Adobe Illustrator, including construction details, measurements, BOMs, fabrics, trims, and colorways.
  • Own fit intent and grading standards, ensuring consistency across sizes, styles, and carryover products.
  • Lead and document fit sessions, clearly communicating feedback and action items to internal teams and overseas vendors.
  • Manage tech pack revisions through proto, SMS, PP, and TOP stages to final production approval.
  • Identify and mitigate fit, construction, and production risks early in the development cycle.
  • Maintain and evolve Gymreapers’ technical standards, fit blocks, and measurement libraries.

Product Development & Commercial Execution

  • Drive product development from concept to commercialization, ensuring on-brand, high-performance, and margin-conscious execution.
  • Partner with Merchandising and Product to evaluate returns, customer feedback, and wear testing to improve future iterations and carryover styles.
  • Contribute to cost engineering efforts by balancing design intent with MOQ, lead time, and landed cost considerations.
  • Track market and competitor trends in performance apparel to inform innovation in materials, construction, and fit.
  • Support seasonal calendars and milestone management to ensure timely product drops.

Production & Vendor Collaboration

  • Partner with Sourcing and Production teams to ensure smooth handoff from development to bulk production.
  • Work directly with manufacturers to enforce quality standards and resolve construction or workmanship issues.
  • Support PP and TOP approvals to ensure production readiness for multi-channel fulfillment (Amazon FBA, DTC, Wholesale).
  • Monitor vendor performance and contribute to continuous improvement in quality, speed, and efficiency.

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • 3+ years of experience in Technical Design within apparel (activewear or performance apparel strongly preferred).
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, grading, and factory operations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Experience working with overseas manufacturers and managing production timelines.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Clear, confident communicator with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Portfolio demonstrating technical design and fit expertise.

Preferred

  • Experience in activewear, training apparel, or performance gear.
  • Familiarity with 3D design tools (CLO3D or similar).
  • Experience supporting high-SKU-count product lines and fast development calendars.
