Logistics Manager
Employment Status: Full-Time, Benefits Eligible
Location: On-Site at Gymreapers HQ in Nampa, ID (20 mins outside of Boise, ID)
Reports To: Director of Logistics
Direct Reports: Logistics Coordinator
Job Description:
Gymreapers is a high-growth ecommerce brand selling premium fitness and lifting gear across Shopify DTC, Amazon, TikTok Shop, and major retail partners including Walmart, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Scheels. We source product internationally and fulfill domestically from our internalized warehouse operation, with freight spend growing in line with aggressive revenue targets.
We are seeking a Logistics Manager to own the strategy, design, and performance of our logistics network. This is not a coordination role — we have a strong Logistics Coordinator who handles day-to-day execution. This role is for someone who can operate at a higher level: designing the carrier and freight network, owning carrier relationships and contract negotiations, identifying structural cost and service improvements, and building the logistics infrastructure that scales with the business.
You will set the direction for how product moves — inbound from overseas and outbound to every customer and retail partner — and hold carriers, brokers, and 3PLs accountable to that standard. The right candidate thinks in network design and unit economics, not just shipment tracking.
About Gymreapers

With our mantra, “NOTHING IS GIVEN,” we embody a relentless pursuit of excellence, innovation, and community-building.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Logistics Network Design and Strategy
Own the design and ongoing optimization of Gymreapers’ freight network — inbound and outbound — to deliver the best combination of cost, speed, and reliability at scale.
- Design and continuously evaluate the inbound freight network: origin consolidation strategy, port selection, mode mix (ocean vs. air), and routing from overseas vendors to the DC
- Develop and maintain the outbound network strategy: carrier mix, zone skipping opportunities, regional carrier utilization, and mode selection by channel and order profile
- Model freight network scenarios to quantify trade-offs between cost, transit time, and service level — and make recommendations with clear unit economics
- Lead the evaluation and selection of new carriers, freight forwarders, brokers, and logistics partners as the network evolves
- Build the logistics roadmap in partnership with the Director of Logistics: what the network needs to look like at $150M+ and what investments and changes get us there
2. Carrier Ownership and Contract Management
Own all carrier and logistics partner relationships at the strategic level — from contract negotiation through ongoing performance accountability.
- Lead carrier RFPs and contract negotiations for parcel, LTL, ocean, air, and drayage — owning rate, service terms, and performance SLAs
- Maintain carrier scorecards and drive formal quarterly business reviews with key carriers and freight partners
- Hold carriers accountable to contracted performance — escalate failures, enforce SLA remedies, and manage carrier exits when warranted
- Own the carrier diversification strategy — ensuring Gymreapers is not overexposed to any single carrier or lane
- Manage the Amazon partnered carrier program relationship and optimize FBA transportation costs and compliance
3. Freight Cost Ownership and Unit Economics
Own logistics cost as a business metric — managing spend against budget and driving structural cost reduction across all freight modes.
- Own freight cost per unit as a KPI across inbound and outbound modes — tracking weekly, reporting monthly, and driving toward targets
- Identify and execute structural cost reduction initiatives: consolidation, zone optimization, mode shift, contract renegotiation, and routing improvements
- Build and maintain a freight cost model that reflects current network performance and projects forward costs under different volume and mix scenarios
- Manage freight budget in partnership with the Director of Logistics and finance — owning variance explanation and forecasting
- Oversee freight audit program in partnership with the Logistics Coordinator — ensuring billing accuracy and recovering overcharges
4. Trade Compliance and International Freight Strategy
Ensure all import activity is compliant, optimized for duty efficiency, and aligned with Gymreapers’ sourcing strategy.
- Own the trade compliance program: HS code classification accuracy, customs broker management, and import regulatory compliance
- Develop and manage the duty drawback program to maximize duty recovery on eligible imported goods
- Monitor trade policy changes — tariffs, country-of-origin rules, free trade agreements — and proactively model the financial impact on Gymreapers’ cost structure
- Partner with supply chain and sourcing on the logistics implications of vendor diversification, new country-of-origin strategies, and changes to inbound routing
- Evaluate bonded warehouse, foreign trade zone, or first-sale valuation strategies as the import volume grows
5. Team Leadership and Execution Oversight
Lead the Logistics Coordinator and ensure day-to-day execution meets the standards set by the network design and carrier strategy.
- Directly manage the Logistics Coordinator, providing clear direction, regular feedback, and development toward greater scope
- Set execution standards and escalation protocols — the Coordinator handles day-to-day freight execution; this role sets the framework they work within
- Own exception management for issues that exceed the Coordinator’s authority or require carrier-level escalation
- Build playbooks and operating standards that allow the Coordinator to execute independently with high quality
- Partner with the Director of Logistics on headcount planning as logistics volume and complexity grow
6. Reporting and Cross-Functional Alignment
Maintain logistics performance visibility and align with warehouse, supply chain, and retail ops on logistics execution.
- Own the logistics KPI dashboard: inbound freight cost per CBM, outbound cost per shipment, carrier OTD, detention and demurrage, claims rate, and freight spend vs. budget
- Provide weekly logistics performance reporting to the Director of Logistics
- Coordinate inbound arrival schedules with the warehouse team to align dock capacity and receiving labor
- Partner with supply chain on PO inbound timelines and communicate freight exceptions that affect inventory availability
- Support retail ops with LTL routing strategy, compliance documentation, and carrier scheduling for wholesale shipments
Qualifications:
- 7–10+ years of logistics experience, with demonstrated ownership of freight network design, carrier strategy, and contract negotiation
- Proven track record leading carrier RFPs and managing carrier relationships at a strategic level — not just day-to-day coordination
- Deep knowledge of international freight: ocean, air, customs brokerage, trade compliance, and duty optimization
- Strong analytical capability — can build freight cost models, evaluate network scenarios, and present trade-off analysis with clear unit economics
- Experience managing outbound parcel and LTL programs in an ecommerce or omnichannel environment
- Background managing Amazon FBA transportation preferred
- Experience with TMS platforms and freight management systems
- Consumer products or ecommerce background preferred
- People management experience preferred; strong candidates without direct reports experience will be considered if logistics network expertise is exceptional
Benefits/Perks:
- Competitive Pay
- Company paid holidays
- Paid Time Off (PTO)
- Gymreapers on-site gym!
- Newly renovated HQ!
- 401(k) with up to a 4% employer match
- Life Flight Program, Voluntary

- 50% Employee Discount
- 100% Employer Paid: Medical, Dental and Vision
