Product Developer / Designer
Employment Status: Full-Time, Benefits Eligible
Location: On-Site at NEW Gymreapers’ HQ in Nampa, ID (20 mins outside of Boise, ID)
Reports To: Director of Product and Development
About the Role:
Gymreapers is looking for a Product Developer / Designer who has personally owned both halves of the job, the design and the development. This is not a designer who hands concepts to a developer, and it’s not a developer who waits on someone else’s designs. You’ll take softgoods and accessories from a sketch on day one all the way to a production-ready product. Products could include anything from belts, straps, wraps, bags, training gear, or apparel.
You’ll design product athletes love, build the tech packs that make it real, negotiate it through our overseas factories, and shepherd it through sampling to production. You’ll partner with sourcing, creative, marketing, and our existing in-house product team, but the design and development belong to you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development process from concept through production, ensuring products meet our standards for quality, fit, and construction
- Turn market, competitor, and athlete insight into concepts, sketches, and design direction
- Identify opportunities for innovation across new and existing categories
- Participate in product ideation and roadmap development
- Support future category expansion initiatives
- Design for performance, durability, fit, aesthetics, and brand alignment
- Build detailed tech packs (construction details, points of measure, material and hardware callouts) and own BOMs and cost breakdowns (CBDs)
- Select materials and hardware (webbing, nylon, neoprene, foam, leather, textiles, buckles, trims) with cost and manufacturability in mind
- Manage the day-to-day development and sampling of assigned projects, including hands-on sample rounds and fit sessions
- Work cross-functionally with merchandising and costing teams to take concepts to final product, and manage production handoff with accurate specs
- Own development timelines and the calendar from concept to handoff, milestones, prototype rounds, WIPs, and material lead times
- Flag delays and risks early and keep development and launch schedules current
- Ability to manage multiple projects across multiple seasons at a time
What We're Looking For:
- A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, multitasks, and reacts quickly
- Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills
- A genuine passion for strength, fitness, and performance gear
- Strong knowledge of the fitness industry and training products
- Has personally owned both the design and the development of products brought to market (this is the core of the role)
- A portfolio or track record that shows products taken from concept sketch through to production
- Strong sewn-product / cut-and-sew construction knowledge and the ability to build clear, production-ready tech packs
- Solid materials and hardware fluency
- Comfortable negotiating cost, MOQs, and timelines directly with overseas factories, with an eye on margin
- Strong Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- 2+ years in softgoods development and design: apparel, accessories, sporting goods, tactical gear, bags/packs, or consumer products
- CAD/3D tools (Fusion 360, Blender, Clo3D)
- PLM, BOM, and cost-sheet experience a plus
Benefits/Perks:
- Competitive Pay
- Company paid holidays
- Paid Time Off (PTO)
- Gymreapers on-site gym!
- Newly renovated HQ!
- 401(k) with up to a 4% employer match
- Life Flight Program, Voluntary

- 50% Employee Discount
- 100% Employer Paid: Medical, Dental and Vision
- 100% Employer Paid: Short-term and Long-term disability - life insurance for both employee and spouse/dependents
